God’s lesson from a storm…

Hey 👋🏾 there BCU Family!

Typically, you have the option of listening to our podcast, reading the notes or both. For this post, because of the conversational story, please tune into the podcast recording and refer to the written post for the highlights and corresponding Scriptures. We pray the post blesses and encourages you.  If so, please thumbs up AND leave a comment! Thank you and enjoy the post!

So BCU Fam, living in New England, our winters are unpredictable. At the time of this post, we just got through a HUGE snow storm, dumping a foot of snow in most places.

During the storm and in removing some of the snow, I stopped to notice how beautiful and peaceful things looked. And noticed something I don’t ever remember hearing.

Listen to the clip above 👆🏽 and the podcast below to find out!👇🏽

Scriptures to ponder

Rejoice in the Lord alway and again I say, rejoice (Philippians 4:4).

I will bless the Lord at all times and His praise shall continually be in my mouth (Psalm 34:1).

Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him (Job 13:15).

I will never leave you or forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).

Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable (Psalm 145:3).

Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! (Psalm 107:8).

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.. (Ephesians 3:20).

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things (Philippians 4:8).

But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).

BCU Fam, to God be the glory for showing me this—this  post blesses me EVERY TIME I hear it. While tests and trials are inevitable in this life, God has assured us that He is walking with us and we should continue to praise Him with our whole heart—withholding nothing and watch how He moves the situation or our attitude toward it. It is all part of the process of becoming more like Jesus! And on top of all that, when we remember that Heaven belongs to those of us that endure to the end, (see 2 Corinthians 4:17), we should be encouraged to continue praying, fasting, serving and praising God. Amen? Amen!

  1. Hey Blen, it’s me, Alexandra again (lol)…another relevant message, wow! I have certainly been in the midst of a heavy storm right now, and I must say I wasn’t always happy about it. Now, while I still have a few challenges even now, something that has been helpful for me in this time is music. It is the same tool that the Lord blessed me with when I was dealing with hardships in the past. When I sing (not well, haha), it just reminds me that God is my strength and my fortress. The Psalms have been a source of inspiration for me as well. And as a writer, sharing what I’m been going through (both publicly and privately) in the form of blog posts and journal entries has also been a blessing. And your podcast has been another beautiful thing in my life! So thank you, Blen. Keep ministering to the heart!

    1. Alexandra—hey!!!!! ❤️

Listen, you stop by whenever you’d like—you have an open invitation!

Thank you for your candid and heartfelt comments–I am certain they resonate with the BCU readers—I know I can relate!

I LOVE your suggestion about music. The right song can really bring you to a place of praise and worship where God is SO magnified, your trial seems like an ant! Sometimes God allows us to go through our situations to remind us that He is greater than anything we are going through.
And yes, I’ll leave my singing to the professionals! Lol!!!😂

I also agree the Psalms are wonderful…please share your go-to’s when you get a chance a few of mine are Psalm 3, 23, 34, 100 and 103.

And finally, I need to get better about the journaling, Alexandra! I declare I have good intentions LOLOLOL!!!! That’s an awesome way talk things through with God/to put things in perspective. It’s also good to see how the Lord got you through those tough times.

I give God praise the podcast/blog is encouraging you–you have no idea how much that blesses and encourages me to continue to do what God put in my heart. May God bless you mightily for your kind words and strengthen you for the work He has called you to.

I’ll continue to keep you in prayer and please do the same for me!

      Love,

  2. Hi Blenda,
That’s wonderful news, thanks! One Psalm I memorized as a child was psalm 23. I also like Psalm 91, Psalm 42, Psalm 46 and Psalm 51. But the list could go on, really!

And no worries, I talk about journalling but I still need to get better with this as well. I just find on the days I do journal, that I feel a bit lighter. 🙂

Thank you also for your encouragement. Yes, I pray that I will contiune to strive to do His work. Pray for me, as I find at times my spirit is heavy. So I appreciate you sharing such beautiful words of encouragement consistently.

Much blessings to you! Thanks for your prayers. Will definitely keep you in prayer as well.

    1. Hey Sis!

To God be the glory–it’s a HONOR to hold you up in prayer and THANK you for doing likewise for me!

Sometimes that heaviness is our spirit groaning in response to the things that are going on in this world and our desire go live with Jesus, yet we have a LOT of work to do! We’re going to get through this life TOGETHER!!!!

I know I appreciate your posts and am delighted to be working alongside with you in the kingdom.

Love you SO very much! Be encouraged!
