BCU Fam, we live in a society where it is almost a badge of honor to be busy, running, stressed and tired. There is no biblical evidence of that being a requirement for salvation, or living the Christian life. In order to combat this worldly mindset, with the help of the Lord, we should acknowledge Him regarding ALL our tasks, even the things we know we have to take care of routinely. I am not saying that we need to ask the Lord if we should brush our teeth or clean up the spilled milk before we leave for work. Rather, if we make it a habit to start our day with prayer (Psalm 63:1), and pray throughout the day, asking the Lord for the wisdom, knowledge and understanding on how to carry out our assignments, and which ones take priority for the day, He will help us. Amen? Amen! Let’s pray!

Father, in the name of Jesus, as we come before You, thank You so much for the reminder, as always to acknowledge You in all of our ways. Whether we are going to work, school, at home, taking care of family, whatever it is, please help us to ask You, Jesus, in what sequence things should go in for the day.

Help us, Jesus to hear You and follow that sequence, so that we are not walking around tired, stressed, angry, agitated, irritated, or any of those things that are not of You. Thank You for giving us the grace to follow what You tell us to do, as we look forward to being more productive and doing things in the kairos time zone, according to Your will and way! In Jesus name we pray, Amen!

From Hosanna to Heaven!

  • This time of year (some call “Holy Week”) many Christians the remember the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.
  • For years, there have been great debates on the “appropriateness” of celebrating Resurrection Day—-citing not knowing the day Jesus rose, and all the secular references—the bunny, eggs, chocolate and pagan origins of Easter (all valid points).
  • That said, Jesus dying for our sins was a bloody and painful sacrifice for all of us that we should always remember.
  • For those who know Jesus in the pardoning of their sins, we understand and celebrate the biblical and life-changing momentousness of His resurrection.

BCU Fam, I started the podcast to highlight one word and ended up emotionally recalling some of the pain Jesus went through as He sacrificed His life for ALL of us. When I think about what Jesus went through to save us, with His help, it compels me to live in a way that honors His life daily and points others to Jesus being the Way, the Truth and the Life. Let’s pray.

Father, in the name of Jesus, as we come before you today, we want to thank You for this reminder of what You have done for us,Jesus. Thank you for a look back over the Scriptures from Palm Sunday, to the day You died and rose in triumph! We thank and praise You, Jesus for being the ultimate sacrifice for ALL of us—–no matter where we live, our ethnicity, the language we speak—-salvation is available for everyone! We are grateful that You still save, Jesus! Thank You for the Comforter in the way of the Holy Ghost that lives down on the inside of us. As we go through some of the tough trials in this life, Lord, and we feel like we cannot go on, bless us to remember Your sacrifice for us and that we can rely on Your strength to help us along the way. Remember those who are on the fence about giving their lives to you, Jesus. Help them to push past the lies of the enemy, so that they can experience Your saving power. It’s in Jesus name we thank You for this and all things, we pray and bless You, Amen!

The Widow vs. The Unjust Judge

  • I was taught a parable is “an earthly story with a heavenly meaning”—-and so began my love of the parables.
  • The “Unjust Judge” is a story about a widow who had a situation that only this judge could rectify.
  • The judge was corrupt, but her insistence eventually wore him down.
  • This parable is a good reminder that persistence in prayer in the face of adversity will keep us from fainting and, that God, our Just Judge will always avenge His elect.

BCU Fam, persistent prayer is a necessary staple in the Christian’s life. We want to keep in mind that sometimes, our prayers are not answered “in our favor” (meaning, the way WE want) because our Just Judge has a better way of doing things. There are several things I “thought” were good for me, at the time, but thanks be to God HE KNEW differently and answered accordingly. So, when we pray consistently and persistently, God hears us, yes, but if we listen, we will hear Him, and in that, our hearts will acquiesce to His perfect will for our lives. Amen? Amen! Let’s pray!

Father, in the name of Jesus, we thank You for Your Word today and for You being our Just, Holy and Righteous Judge. Thank You for reminding us that nothing escapes Your knowledge and that You will always take care of Your elect. Bless us to remember that when we are wronged, You will right the wrong in Your way and on Your time——and that rather than us being consumed with how and when You avenge us, we want to continue praying and living so You are pleased with us in all that we think, say and do, in Jesus name, we thank You, Amen!

Obedience is a Requirement

  • When one of the kiddos was younger, he informed me that there were things we HAVE to do, even if we don’t WANT to.
  • I recall a time where someone requested me to take care of a task their way, rather than my way.
  • Naturally, my way was “better”, and I was prepared to do things the way I wanted to. Period! 😆

BCUFam, this was a sobering WORD! While we are grateful for living in the dispensation of grace, with the help of the Lord, we still need to follow what He tells us to do. Because Jesus is a Good Father, He would never misguide us, so this is where we have to trust that God knows what is best. Now, in our zeal to get things done right away, coupled with our finite and limited capacity to see ahead, we can easily lean to our own understanding. Our understanding is faulty, short-sighted and will not ever be more wise than the Lord’s way of doing things. In fact, His ways and thoughts are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9). So the wisest choice is to follow the Lord’s leading, so we will always get His results. Amen? Amen! Let’s pray!

Father, in the name of Jesus, we thank You for the Word that has corrected us today! We bless Your name and thank You for loving us enough to remind us that we need to be obedient in every area of our lives. Lord, as we come before You, we thank You for helping us follow Proverbs 3:5-6, that admonishes us to trust in You with all of our heart, lean not to our own understanding, and that we acknowledge You in all of our ways, so that our paths will be directed. By doing things Your way, the outcome will be perfect, because You, Jesus are perfect. Please continue to bless and keep us, and we will continue to give You all the praise and glory! In Jesus name, we pray, Amen!

BCUFam, this was a WORD! With all this uncertainty, turbulence, policy changes, disasters, food shortages and other situations happening, from the natural eye, these ARE scary, faith-testing times! We also know that because God tells us without faith, it is impossible to please Him, He rewards those who diligently seek Him, AND the size of our faith only needs to be the size of a grain of a mustard seed (Matthew 17:20) we can continue to put our trust the the Author and Finisher of our faith to take care of His people. Amen? Amen! Let’s pray!

Father, in the name of Jesus, we thank You, for the Word that has corrected, challenged, convicted, taught and has lifted us up! We pray that as we go through these turbulent times, that we will continue to put our faith and trust in You Jesus, who knows everything, rather than people who have limited knowledge. We thank You for meeting all of our needs, and keeping our hearts and minds stayed on You. For those who may not be saved, we thank You Jesus, for speaking to someone’s heart to repent and be baptized in the Name of Jesus for the remission of sins, and You filling them with the gift of Holy Ghost, with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues as outline in Acts chapters 1 and 2.

We thank You for the privilege and honor of serving and representing You in these end times, Jesus! Please continue to help us to be faithful servants, and we will continue to give You all the praise and glory! In Jesus name, we pray, Amen!
