Understanding the Signs of Perilous Times

I typically record our content in an informal “podcast on the go” format. Many times, the Lord gives me subject matter as I am driving or waiting, so I record on the spot!   • We thank the Lord we are back from holiday, enjoying my friends, family and all things summer.
  • As the Lord refreshed my mind and body, I ran into a few instances where the people around me were entitled, sullen, arrogant, loud and disrespectful.
  • In fact, just today, I encountered a person with a poor attitude I was praying for a service at an establishment I frequent.
  • The Lord reminded me this is all part of the perilous times.

5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

BCUFam, I am from a generation that respected the adults we interacted with, especially in a customer service situation. Moreover, the Spirit of God down on the inside will “check me” if a tone or attitude shows up, so in order for me to see Jesus in peace, I have to make sure I am loving on everyone, especially the unlovely. When we stay in lock-step with Jesus, He will remind us to not to get in our feelings and take these behaviors personally, but to pray and witness about the saving power of Jesus! Amen? Amen! Let’s pray!

Father, in the name of Jesus, as always, we want to thank You for the Word we have heard! We thank You for reminding us that when these spirits show up, that you help us not to be infected and affected, but rather, humbled and thankful that You delivered us! Bless us to remember to stay in a posture of prayer, versus reacting in a way that does not glorify You. We also intercede on behalf of those who are infected by these spirits to be delivered, healed, saved and set free in the matchless name of Jesus! We thank You, Jesus, for the victory and for continuing to strengthen and keep us, as we continue to give you all the glory, honor and praise! In Jesus name, we pray and thank You, Amen!

Biblical Perspectives on Rest: Uncovering Word Study Series Finale

  • We are wrapping up our word study series for the month by looking at the Biblical definition of a word or phrase.
  • One Greek word for “rest” is anapausis, which means to cease from movement, intermission, or tranquility of the body and/or mind, even when there is chaos all around us.
  • The people of God should be resting on a regular basis as God did, and as Jesus said.

BCUFam, our bodies and minds need to rest on the regular in order to hear God and to function optimally. While we cannot deny that we have situations here, if we know Jesus in the pardoning of our sins, we can take our concerns to the Lord in prayer and leave them there without the situations consuming us with rest-stealing worry and anxiety.

Also, let’s commit to practicing taking time away from the hustle and bustle of our lives on a regular basis and get to a “desert” place where Jesus is, so we can operate more in the “kairos” time zone.* In doing so, we will find that although the situations have not changed, our yokes are easy and our burdens are light. Amen? Amen! Let’s pray about it!

Father, in the name of Jesus, as we come before You, we thank You for the Word of God that has refreshed our souls! Thank You for reminding us, that when we are overwhelmed, we can go to the Rock that is higher than ourselves, just as David did. We can come to You in prayer with all of our concerns, situations, thoughts and feelings, and leave them with You, so we are no longer consumed, but feel peace and experience rest as only You can give.

Please remember those of us who are really in the thick of the worry struggle. Some of us are not resting because of situations going on our our families, on the job, with our children, our spouses, friends, our desire for a spouse, our physical and/or mental health, past trauma, or any number of things. We ask Lord, that your Spirit touches all who are going through even now, Lord Jesus——–bless them to feel Your presence, and to hear Your voice as You speak over their situation and work things out according to Your will and way. Bless everyone listening to remember that You are able to do exceedingly and abundantly above all we can ask or think according to the power that works in us. 

Thank you for blessing someone today to repent, be baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost so they can experience the rest that comes from You, Jesus. We thank You for answering our prayers today, in Jesus name, we pray, Amen!

Understanding The Word “Accuser” | Biblical Word Study

  • We are continuing our word study this week by looking at the Biblical definition of a word or phrase.
  • “Kategoros” is a Greek word for accuser, meaning a prosecutor, or plaintiff in a lawsuit, or one who speaks in a derogatory way of another.
  • Another very serious definition is “diabolos”, meaning adversary, enemy or slanderer–especially regarding Satan and/or His spirit. He is hostile toward God and man, and part of his work is to accuse us of disloyalty and sin before others and God.

7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

20 Where no wood is, there the fire goeth out: so where there is no talebearer, the strife ceaseth.

BCUFam, this is a GOOD reminder of what my response should be when falsely accused, as well as how we are supposed to react when someone comes to us with an accusation about another person. And it does not matter if you know the person or not——our responses should be the same. “Did you speak with the person?” “Were you there?” “Did you get the whole story?” “Are you praying for/with them?”  Or, “I don’t know what happened, but I will be praying for the entire situation.” This may annoy the “well-meaning” talebearer/accuser, but it will put that fire out and keep us in right standing with God. Amen? Amen! Let’s pray!

Father, in the name of Jesus, as we come before You, we thank You for Your word that has illuminated our hearts and minds. Thank you for reminding us that we do not want to accuse anyone falsely at all. Help us to remember not to join into the conversation and besmirch the individual, rather we are to err on the side of love, and to bear, believe, hope and endure all things.

Jesus, please help us to respond correctly when we are falsely accused. Bless us to remember what You told us in the book of Matthew——that we are blessed when we are reviled, persecuted, and evil spoken of for Your sake. We are to rejoice and be EXCEEDINGLY glad, because we have a GREAT reward in Heaven for us.

Thank You for blessing us to hide this Word in our hearts, so that we will not sin against you. Please continue to strengthen, bless and keep us in Your care to do all we are charged to do, so that we can see you in peace, in Jesus name, we pray and thank You! Amen!

Bible Word Study: Understanding ‘Judge’ in Scripture

BCUFam, did it surprise you that we make judgements daily as it relates to decision-making? What about the phrase “you cannot judge me”? It is a blessing to now have a deeper understanding and wisdom around this important word. With the help of the Lord, let’s make it our business to judge only according to how the Lord instructs us. Amen? Amen! Let’s pray!

Father, in the Name of Jesus, we come before You with a thankful heart for more insight into Your Word, and for helping us to judge things the way You would have us to, or not at all. We ask that You would help us to turn the spotlight on ourselves on all the areas needed to be more like You. Also, as we are speaking and commenting about things, please help us to remember to acknowledge You first, so that our speech is edifying, administers grace to the hearer and is seasoned with salt (Colossians 4:6 and Ephesians 4:29). We ask that You continue to bless and strengthen us, as we continue to walk upright before You, in Jesus name, we pray and thank You, Amen!
