I LOVE a good Holy-Ghost filled service, where praise, worship and the Word is flowing freely!
I also enjoy the “love-feast” afterwards when the people of God get to talk and fellowship.
One time, someone reached out to me with the concern that I was offended by lackluster fellowship.

BCUFam, it is IMPERATIVE that we ask the Lord to give us a clean heart and renew a right Spirit within us, as David said in Psalm 51. In doing so, we will think the BEST about people and avoid incorrectly filling-in-the-blanks about motives and intent. Instead and as needed, we should take any and ALL concerns to the Lord in prayer. This way, we can get His direction so we get His results which are always perfect. Amen? Amen! Let’s pray!

Eternal God and Awesome Savior, as we come before You today, we praise Your holy name, and we give You honor, Lord, for the Word You have downloaded into us today. Lord, please bless us as we are interacting with one another to not to be easily offended——-and if we are offended, Lord, please help us to take care of the situation straightaway so that you, Jesus, are magnified and lifted up in how we handle the offense.

We thank you, Lord, for the people and relationships that You have given us. Bless us to take good care of all You have entrusted to us, in Jesus name. Let every heart say, Amen.

Room A203: When The Assignment is Completed.

One of my favorites people? My Mother-in-Love, Margaret, (who insisted I call her Mama).
The Lord set up our relationship so that He would have His way in her life.

BCUFam, sometimes, people are doing what they know is right concerning the Lord, and our assignment is to let them know what the next steps are, just like Peter went to Cornelius in Acts 10, and I believe that was my assignment for my momma-in-love. I was blessed to see the Lord move on and speak through her, and a change in demeanor that only the Lord could orchestrate.

Sadly, my super-beloved mama-in-love departed from this life last month. I still have some of her voice mails, text messages and took course the memories of our times together over the last few years. As much as I would have loved more time with her, the Lord let me know this assignment has been completed. And even with tears in my eyes and a heavy heart, I give God praise for her life and memory. Amen? Amen.

Father, in the name of Jesus, as we come before You today, we bless and praise Your Name! Thank You, Lord, for helping us to be mindful of our assignments, and with Your help, carrying them out without distractions, and with distinction.

Also, Lord, please continue to remember those who are grieving the loss of their loved ones. Put Your arms around us Lord, and send comfort, and healing to hearts today everywhere as we continue to serve You and to bless Your Holy Name.

In Jesus’ name, we thank you. Let every heart say, Amen.

God Is ALWAYS In The Details!

Hey there BCU Fam!

Podcast Highlights:

I used to travel for a living, and thus, I learned to be organized and leave for the airport VERY EARLY!
On this particular trip, I prayed for an opportunity to be a witness to someone, and went on about my way.
Upon arriving at the airport, the TSA line was actually non-existent, so I did not have to rush to be screened.
God set up a kairos-timed opportunity for me to be blessed by an airport staff member.

BCUFam, I marvel at God and how He does things. God was in all the details, really starting from my mom being born, getting married, saved, having kids, living through some health challenges, and celebrating her last birthday. Then He arranged the day I booked the trip, the airline to use, the arrival time at the airport—–all to meet this one woman, Ms. Joyce who BLESSED and encouraged ME! God is AWESOME! When we acknowledge the Lord in all our ways, He will truly direct our paths—-we just have to hear His voice and with His help, obey! Amen? Amen! Let’s pray!

Father, in the name of Jesus, thank You for teaching/reminding us to be good stewards with our chronos time, so we can SLOW DOWN and be more aware of what You would have us to do/receive in kairos time. Jesus please speak through us as we interact with people so that You are glorified, honored and praised, and that we will either be a blessing to someone, they will bless us, or both! Thank You, Jesus, for helping us to be good representatives of the light and salt You have called for us to be, and we will give You all the glory! In Jesus Name, we pray, Amen!

Room A203: My Mom, An Ice-Cream Cone & A Life Lesson

Hey there BCU Fam!

Podcast highlights:

My parents were the quintessential back-in-the-day married couple with kids.
Dad worked and “brought home the bacon”, and Mom ensured the “bacon” clothed, fed and sheltered all of five of us.
Part of Mom’s household management style included special treats from time to time, which we loved.
One of those treats brought joy, tears and a reflective lesson.

BCUFam, I had forgotten about that story until a dear family member checked on me. God has a way of bringing things back to our remembrance in the natural so we can recall and apply it for our spiritual benefit and to His glory.

As I continue to reflect on the life of my late mother, I recognize that the lessons she taught—–both spoken and unspoken and they how continue to resonate with me today. Lord will, I plan to share some more of those lessons with you all as I chronicle her phenomenal life and impactful legacy. Amen? Amen! Let’s pray!

Eternal God, and amazing Savior as we come before You today, we thank You for reminding us to be obedient to You the first time, as we desire to be hearers AND doers of Your Word. Please forgive us, Lord for the times we made ignorant and/or disobedience choices. We know that sometimes we have to walk out the consequences of our actions, so we ask for Your continued mercy until our chastisement is over, and with Your grace, we will do better going forward! We thank You, and we praise You for this and for all things, Lord, in Jesus name, we bless You. Amen!

The Spirit of Offense

Hey there BCU Fam!

Being offended is a part of life, and these offenses REALLY show up in the lives of us who are Holy-Ghost filled!
I witnessed an interaction where a standing upset between two people made things VERY awkward for the onlookers.
The Lord reminded me of a time I was offended, did not handle things correctly, and He corrected me.

BCUFam, I admit I could have done a much better job at handling that situation! I am grateful for God’s mercy and patience toward me as He helped me to reconcile with my sister-friend. Unaddressed offenses often turn into bitterness, anger, wrath, clamor and evil speaking against the offender. While we do not minimize the hurt the person caused, the Word also says to be kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you (See Ephesians 4:31-32). When God puts it that way, it’s time to take care of these offenses. Amen? Amen! Let’s pray!

Heavenly Father and gracious Savior, as we come before You today, we thank You for teaching/reminding us that in many things we offend all, and that offenses will come.

While the hurt does not feel good, we ask that You help us to forgive the individuals from our heart, as You heal our heart, mind and spirit. Thank You, Jesus for helping us to go on and love that person the way You have called us to. We also know that in certain situations, it is best the relationship not continue after forgiveness happens. Help us NOT to lean to our own understanding on who to stop associating with, rather, bless us to consult and follow Your leading, so You are honored, praised and pleased. Thank You Lord for helping those of us who have offended others to ask for and receive forgiveness as well, so You are glorified and we can can be called Your children! In Jesus Name, we pray, Amen!
