Hey there BCU Family!
Due to my laryngitis this week, we’ll skip the podcast and scheduled post and go with something on the lighter, but serious side of the house.
Many know we are supposed to get 7-8 hours of sleep, but most of us do not. Work, school, kids, chores, responsibilities–all have us up later and getting up earlier. Or, if you’re like me, you feel you do fine on the 5 hours of sleep. Right? Wrong. The infographic below (courtesy of DailyInfographic.com), talks about the long-term effects of burning the candle at both ends. Chronic sleeplessness can be linked to heart trouble, immune system diseases and certain cancers! YIKES!
So while an occasional late night may not hurt, we (myself included) want to ensure we start going to bed timely. And if we have trouble falling/staying asleep, prayer before you hit the sack along with reading God’s Word will have you knocked out in no time. Ask me how I know? (wink). Here’s a little something to get you started:
Come unto me all you who labor and are heavy laden and I [Jesus] will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and you shall find rest for your souls.
For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30.
