A walk through Psalm 24!

Hey 👋🏾 there BCU Family!

Typically, you have the option of listening to our podcast, reading the notes or both. For this post, because of the conversational story, please tune into the podcast recording and refer to the written post for the highlights and corresponding Scriptures. We pray the post blesses and encourages you. If so, please thumbs up AND leave a comment! Thank you and enjoy the post!

Podcast highlights:

  • This was one of the first Psalms I recall after I got saved in 1992.
  • The song “Who is the King of Glory”  by Commissioned helped me to remember this Psalm. I STILL love that song!
  • I LOVE how it starts off with establishing how everything belongs to God.
  • David tells us how we are to live to even get to God.
  • And the encouragement at the end is my FAVORITE! Let’s dig in!

Psalm 24

1 The earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.

2 For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.

3 Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place?

4 He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.

5 He shall receive the blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.

6 This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah.

7 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.

8 Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.

9 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.

10 Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.

So what is/are your favorite verse(s) in this Psalm? Is there a different Psalm encourages you? Or mayhap there is another passage of Scripture that does? Please head down to the comments section to share your thoughts so we can continue our conversation and praise to our God!
